This is an opportune moment to consider which of these immediate responses should remain and to create more lasting paths regarding how we work and relate to each other.<\/p>\n<p>For the first time in a long time, we have a context that impacts us globally, affecting health, the economy, politics, and information. With purpose as the guiding principle of our decisions, we have perceived a particularly human appeal, a demand for responsibility from brands in relation to our business amidst the pandemic scenario.<\/p>\n<p>Considering the challenges of value creation and the behaviors behind so many transformations, we share four key points from the first lesson of the &quot;Building Value in Times of Crisis&quot; program. The first session featured Marco Dalpozzo. Check it out below:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<h3><strong> Responding with innovation<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Faced with uncertainty, all that remains for us is to innovate by responding to the challenges of the present \u2013 this is how we build value and make real transformations. The VUCA world is a fundamental part of our reality, and the sooner we can acknowledge this, the more natural the path of innovation will be as a response to change.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, we need to make a continuous effort to incorporate innovation as part of our way of thinking and acting; that is, to work with an innovation mindset. In this way, we focus on the problem to bring real solutions, and we bring more experimentation into our daily lives.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>\n<h3><strong> New value relationships<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The pandemic has highlighted the need to rethink fundamental societal issues. Our judgment about what is important and valuable is transforming. Thriving no longer means growing revenue at any cost, but creating value responsibly, connected to business needs, and attentive to the realities of people and the planet.<\/p>\n<p>Movements toward greater collaboration, new partnerships, and ways of doing things have been accelerated and intensified by the need for survival of businesses that have suffered unpredictable impacts. We see beer brands creating campaigns to support bars and restaurants, streaming platforms recommending content from their competitors, and leaders in large companies choosing to retain their teams at the expense of part of their own salaries. It has been a time of testing and learning other types of socioeconomic relationships, more focused on the collective good.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>\n<h3><strong> Strategic planning<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Planning remains important, but we increasingly need to adapt our plans and direct our efforts according to rapidly emerging priorities. Our expectations and forecasts can no longer combine long-term perspectives, rigidity, and predictability.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of a command-and-control system, we need to work on building a culture of agility, autonomy, and alignment, where everyone can be a guardian of the strategy, capable of reviewing priorities and directing the focus according to the context, which, as we must acknowledge, is indeed volatile.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>\n<h3><strong> The purpose of Brazil<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>We are a young country that needs a vision for the future and to find a shared purpose. Only then will we build value from our naturally optimistic and adaptable way of being. It&#039;s time to recognize our fundamental values, to understand what motivates us to continue doing what we do now, based on what unites us through identity.<\/p>\n<p>The main changes we are experiencing right now are in mindset, behavior, and relationships.
